Terms and conditions

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before electing to use designer on loan. By hiring from us, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to designer on loan’s terms of agreement, then you may not use the service.

Bookings

Customers can hire on the same day in store, or you can book an item in store for a later date. Clients may also book an item by contacting us directly via our website or social media. When making a booking in advance the client must pay the full hire cost or the item will not be held. All bookings requested via the website or social media will be sent the terms and conditions prior to the hire. If the client continues with the hire after receiving the terms and agreements, they are agreeing to abide by them.
Payment is taken securely via credit card using our ‘square’ device.

Postage & Local Pick-up/drop off

We post Australia wide using express post or offer local pick-up/drop off from our store at 1/48 Gordon avenue, Geelong West.

All items are posted 3 days prior to your hire start date. Australia Post Express shipping is expected to arrive between 1-3 days of posting. Cost of shipping is $25 which includes a return express post satchel. Customers will be sent a tracking number once garment/s is sent. Customers who hire from in store may also purchase a return express post satchel in the instance they cannot return the item in person. We recommend sending designer on loan the tracking number via email to [email protected], as we do not take responsibility for lost items, and you may be liable for late or lost fees.

The garment/s must be sent back in the custom bag provided by designer on loan.

Cleaning

Do not clean or wash your garment prior to returning to designer on loan. Our professional dry cleaners will clean the item and a standard cleaning fee is included in the hire price. We understand accidents happen, however please notify of any damages to items during the hire period. Do not attempt to clean or repair yourself under any circumstances.

Damage & Theft

Our garments must be returned in the same condition as they were hired out in, with the exception of light marks that can be resolved by dry cleaning. Be mindful of fake tan, make-up and anything else that may cause damage to the garment/s. You must not alter or make any additions to garment/s. If the garment/s is found to be damaged when returned, the customer will be responsible for paying repair/alteration fee as quoted by a professional tailor/dry cleaner. If the item is beyond repair, the customer is liable to pay the full retail cost of the garment/s. The garment/s is and will always remain the absolute property of designer on loan. If the garment/s is lost or stolen the customer will be charged full retail cost of the garment/s.

Refunds & Cancellations

Designer on loan does not offer refunds for incorrect sizing, change of mind, change of date or event cancellations. Once you pay to hire the garment it is a confirmed service. If we can, we are happy to offer a store credit or exchange on another hire item, given that item is available. Store credit and exchange will not be offered if designer on loan has already posted the original garment or if the original garment has already been collected from store.

Our items are carefully inspected prior to being hired out. Customers acknowledge they are wearing second-hand items that have been worn by other people, therefore some minor wear and tear is expected. We do not provide refunds for garments normal wear and tear. It is the responsibility of the customer to inspect the garment/s prior to taking from the store or immediately after the item has been delivered. If by chance we have missed a fault on a delivered item, the customer must notify designer on loan the same day as delivery with photo evidence. If this is not done the client is not eligible for a refund. If faults are deemed minor and in line with what is expected with a hire item, the customer continues with the hire. If the garment/s is unwearable then the customer is eligible for a full refund. The definition of minor and major fault is at the discretion of designer on loan. All items collected from store must be inspected first by the customer and are not eligible for a refund once taken from the store.

Designer on loan reserves the right to cancel a booking at any time. Should a garment/s become unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control (product damage/late returns) and a full refund will be issued.

A refund will not be issued if a garment/s does not arrive on time to the customer due to delays with Australia post. All items are shipped from store via express post 3 days prior to your hire start date. We therefor recommend you begin your hire start date 2-3 days before your actual event.
